I was seen today by Mr Malin Wijeratna for my frozen shoulder. The procedure was explained very well and in language i could understand no medical jargon. Him self and all of staff where fantastic putting myself at ease all through the procedure also the after care was great I would have no hesitation seeing Mr Wijeratna in the future should it become necessary. Thank you all for a very pleasant experience.
Very flexible and accommodating
Mr Wijeratna has significantly improved my life with a total shoulder replacement . I am pain free and have regained full movement and am now able to carry out my work, life, and leisure activities again. He has, at each appointment listened to me and responded with professional, caring advice.
I attended City Hospital 3/3/21 for a Subacromial Decompression. I have a fear of needles and was extremely anxious before the operation. Mr Wijeratna sat down with me beforehand and talked me through the process which really eased my anxiety. He explained everything very clearly and answered a couple of questions I had in a way i could understand. I explained about my needle phobia which he explained to his excellent team who managed this extremely well and made me as comfortable as possible. Healing well and so glad I’ve had my shoulder sorted.
I came into see Mr Wijeratna with a ruptured bicep and he had me on the operating table within 72 hours. He reattached, did what he had to do, and now I’m well on the way to recovery. Everything was explained fully along the way and I had total faith in everything that he said.
Being epileptic and having severe seizures, caused my arm to dislocate an awful lot. I had a consultation with Mr Wijeratna and he was thorough from the word go. He requested I had a MRI arthrogram to ensure he fully understood the extent of my injury. He reassured me throughout and was realistic about the operation. The surgery was a huge success and the aftercare post op was second to none. I have since recommended him to two other colleagues and will recommend him to anyone with similar issues. I have made a full recovery with no complications and I am so grateful to have had him as my consultant. Thank you again you really have given me the confidence to be able to do the things I once enjoyed without the worry of my shoulder dislocating!
Oddly enough I bumped in to Malin whilst playing a cricket match and recognised him as the surgeon who operated on my left shoulder. I dislocated my left shoulder several times whilst playing sports and Malin conducted a joint stabilization procedure. This has proved to be a huge success, I thankfully have had no dislocations following this operation in 2015 and desperately hope this continues. Malin was very knowledgeable, understanding, empathetic and attentive to my needs. He talked me through the risks and benefits of the operation so I was able to make a fully informed decision. Furthermore, Malin managed to fast track my operation due to a cancellation; I went under the knife the day after my MRI scan discussion. I would wholeheartedly recommend Malin to anyone who requires a joint stabilisation procedure. My only gripe with Malin is he stumped me out as I was batting for the opposing team, if ever our sides do face each other in future I will be staying in my crease!
I was operated on, to replace my left shoulder joint, in October of this year. From my first appointment I had great confidence in Mr Wijeratna. He listened to what I had to say, asked relevant questions and was reassuring as to the success of the procedure whilst at the same time outlining possible difficulties. The operation has been a great success. despite being possibly one of Mr Wijeratna’s older patients i have recovered very quickly thanks to the skill of him and his team. I can only offer my grateful and heartfelt thanks to them all.
