I had a Left Total Shoulder Replacement in December 2021 at the Woodthorpe Hospital as an NHS patient. Although I did not meet Mr Wijeratna until the morning of my surgery he still took the time to explain all about the surgery. He was friendly, polite and was able to put you at ease. It is now September and I can honestly say the surgery has been great. I am pain free, have good movement and have been discharged today. I would definitely recommend Mr Wijeratna to anyone who has shoulder problems.
He has an excellent manner and very good at his job the surgery was a success and very neat. He has been very considerate in supporting me in my physio and the hospital customer service is outstanding. The Physio Alice is exceptional and really recommend.
I took my mum to see Mr Malin Wijeratna at the Ramsey Woodthorpe Hospital last Friday for a follow up appt after her shoulder replacement in 2020 . I would like to thank him for his professionalism , kindness , and friendly manner , my mum is very hard of hearing , which makes it very difficult to have a conversation with her . Mr Wijeratna was so patient and kind to my mum ,which is sometimes very stressful , my mum was very grateful to him , he has made her quality of life so much better , now she is free from pain in her shoulder , such a wonderful outcome from her operation performed by Mr Wijeratna , I would personally like to thank him and all the wonderful staff at the Woodthorpe hospital for making my mum feel at ease and looking after her
Mr Wijeratna carried out a reverse shoulder replacement for me four weeks ago. His knowledge and skill is exemplary and he totally reassured me that I was making the right decision by going ahead as I was quite nervous about it. Following surgery he came to see me and explained exactly what he had done during the operation so I fully understood it. Prior to my consultation I had no idea that shoulder replacement was even an option. My pain is massively reduced and my movements are improving weekly. I could not be happier with the outcome. Getting a good night's sleep is still a challenge but I know it is still very early days and I reckon things can only get better. Mr Wijeratna and your team, I cannot thank you enough.
Operation on frozen shoulder via keyhole, I was expecting a scar from the keyhole incision and 12 weeks on I have to look for where it is as it's hardly noticeable. Dr Wijeratna explained it would be hard work to get full movement back, which set my expectations and I can now move normally. During the operation I can see what was happening on the screen, which he explained and answered questions before, during and after.
Mr Wijeratna during consultations was very clear and concise. Booked me in to surgery, follow up consultations and physiotherapy very fast. Detailed every step of surgery and asked if I had any questions. Very professional
Mr Dr Wijeratna done some surgery on my shoulder I was in a lot of pain tearing one tendon off the bone and damaging two others although the main damage on one tendon wasn't able to fix on this actual occasion he did an amazing job by repairing the other two getting me back to work without all the pain I was in I'm moving more freely now although I will probably have to have more surgery to repair the worst tendon I'm really grateful to him I'm a scaffolder by trade so my shoulders take a lot of the stress of work I'd recommend him to anybody who needs surgery
What a great specialist- humorous and efficient. My procedure was a total shoulder replacement using the latest computer assisted aids resulting in a total success. Now, a year later, I have totally regained the use of my shoulder and just wish I had seen this specialist years earlier instead of putting up with the pain. Can't thank Mr Malin enough and would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for an up to date and great surgeon!!
