Mr Wijeratna did a tennis elbow release to my left elbow (had the right one done 8years ago at the same place but a different surgeon) what a pleasant person listening to everything I had to say and went through everything with me in detail. Just had my follow up appointment and all healing good.
I want to thank Mr wijeratna for the total success of my shoulder replacement for which I will be eternally grateful. I have not had any pain following the operation and I believe the computer navigation used has made this operation so remarkable. It is now a year since the operation and I am able to do anything I want – which was previously impossible and the scar is almost invisible. I should add that I am 82 years old and was very apprehensive when it was first suggested but it has been the best decision that I have made – without doubt' I had complete trust in Mr Wijeratna from the very first consultation. I just knew I was in the right hands. The operation has made a new women of me and I send my sincere gratitude to Mr Wijeratna and his team.
Mr Wijeratna was very understanding of my issue and correctly diagnosed my problem virtually straight away which filled me with Confidence. The surgery he carried out was very precise and professional .. and the aftercare, advice and information he gave me regarding healing time etc was very accurate. Recovery has been very good and I am able to train and live a life that I wasn't able too for a long time. Thank you so much.
Mr Wijeratna has significantly improved my life with a total shoulder replacement . I am pain free and have regained full movement and am now able to carry out my work, life, and leisure activities again. He has, at each appointment listened to me and responded with professional, caring advice.
I attended City Hospital 3/3/21 for a Subacromial Decompression. I have a fear of needles and was extremely anxious before the operation. Mr Wijeratna sat down with me beforehand and talked me through the process which really eased my anxiety. He explained everything very clearly and answered a couple of questions I had in a way i could understand. I explained about my needle phobia which he explained to his excellent team who managed this extremely well and made me as comfortable as possible. Healing well and so glad I’ve had my shoulder sorted.
What a great specialist- humorous and efficient. My procedure was a total shoulder replacement using the latest computer assisted aids resulting in a total success. Now, a year later, I have totally regained the use of my shoulder and just wish I had seen this specialist years earlier instead of putting up with the pain. Can't thank Mr Malin enough and would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for an up to date and great surgeon!!
I was referred with acute pain in my shoulder, Mr Wijeratna listened to my description of the situation carefully, sent me for an x-ray (which was so quick and Lisa was really friendly and put me at ease), and then diagnosed the issue and offered treatment options clearly and without using jargon. I opted for a steroid injection and it provided immediate relief. After a few days I had more movement and was able to progress through physio exercises. At a follow-up appointment 2 months later I was greeted warmly and sent straight through for another x-ray. All seems to be improving nicely so I have been discharged, can't recommend Malin or the Spire at Tollerton highly enough. Their covid-19 precautions were also very effective, including a phone call the day before my appointments to check for any symptoms.
I had shoulder cuff surgery in January, I found Mr Wijeratna and his team very efficient, I had a lot of subsequent pain after the operation, Mr Wijeratna was excellent at communicating and alleviating any concerns that I had post operation. I have just been discharged. The procedure although painful was well worth it and seven months on I have 95% mobility back in my shoulder and the pain is gradually subsiding to a point I hope I will be 100% pain free after it heals completely. My only advice would be to follow all the instructions given with use and post surgery physio, listen to your body but push through the pain to get mobility back. Thank you all concerned at NCH, QMC and NCSEM.
