I was seen today by Mr Malin Wijeratna for my frozen shoulder. The procedure was explained very well and in language i could understand no medical jargon. Him self and all of staff where fantastic putting myself at ease all through the procedure also the after care was great I would have no hesitation seeing Mr Wijeratna in the future should it become necessary. Thank you all for a very pleasant experience.
Mr Wijeratna assessed my shoulder problem. Explained options available. Took time to listen to me about how my shoulder problems impacted on my life. I had shoulder replacement on 22nd September 2022. The pain and limitations of movement are resolving. Mr Wijeratna told me what to expect and prescribed for any discomfort. It has been a privilege to meet such a highly skilled person.
Oddly enough I bumped in to Malin whilst playing a cricket match and recognised him as the surgeon who operated on my left shoulder. I dislocated my left shoulder several times whilst playing sports and Malin conducted a joint stabilization procedure. This has proved to be a huge success, I thankfully have had no dislocations following this operation in 2015 and desperately hope this continues. Malin was very knowledgeable, understanding, empathetic and attentive to my needs. He talked me through the risks and benefits of the operation so I was able to make a fully informed decision. Furthermore, Malin managed to fast track my operation due to a cancellation; I went under the knife the day after my MRI scan discussion. I would wholeheartedly recommend Malin to anyone who requires a joint stabilisation procedure. My only gripe with Malin is he stumped me out as I was batting for the opposing team, if ever our sides do face each other in future I will be staying in my crease!
I had shoulder cuff surgery in January, I found Mr Wijeratna and his team very efficient, I had a lot of subsequent pain after the operation, Mr Wijeratna was excellent at communicating and alleviating any concerns that I had post operation. I have just been discharged. The procedure although painful was well worth it and seven months on I have 95% mobility back in my shoulder and the pain is gradually subsiding to a point I hope I will be 100% pain free after it heals completely. My only advice would be to follow all the instructions given with use and post surgery physio, listen to your body but push through the pain to get mobility back. Thank you all concerned at NCH, QMC and NCSEM.
I was very pleased with the treatment received from Mr Wijeratna at Woodthorpe Hospital for my shoulder injury.
Notwithstanding initial appointment delays caused by the Covid pandemic, I was always confident that my visits to Mr Wijeratna’s clinic at the NCSEM Loughborough would result in a positive experience. Administratively the system appeared to be without fault, appointments were always as scheduled and in-house team work between those in various differing roles was apparent. Mr Wijeratna was clearly structured, keenly focussed and as a patient I always felt confident that I was in the safe hands of an accomplished specialist. Advice was always available and provided in a straight forward “matter of fact” manner and although my issues were relatively minor, I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Mr Wijeratna to anyone with a shoulder issue or injury.
Excellent surgeon and totally successful capsular release for frozen shoulder.
I took my mum to see Mr Malin Wijeratna at the Ramsey Woodthorpe Hospital last Friday for a follow up appt after her shoulder replacement in 2020 . I would like to thank him for his professionalism , kindness , and friendly manner , my mum is very hard of hearing , which makes it very difficult to have a conversation with her . Mr Wijeratna was so patient and kind to my mum ,which is sometimes very stressful , my mum was very grateful to him , he has made her quality of life so much better , now she is free from pain in her shoulder , such a wonderful outcome from her operation performed by Mr Wijeratna , I would personally like to thank him and all the wonderful staff at the Woodthorpe hospital for making my mum feel at ease and looking after her
